Live Animals Import procedure
Doing the right thing is the only way at the moment though it takes a bit of some time.
What you do is you get a
1. proforma invoice from the seller.
2. A letter from the Farmers Association that the seller is an active member.
3. A letter from a state vet doctor that the farm where the animals are coming from is disease free.
With these documents now one can make an application in Harare to get .
1. A vet permit together with health certificate which the Rsa vet will stamp and sign when the beasts are now coming.
2. A goods controls permit from the Agric Min.
3. AMA certificate from the Agric Marketing Authority.
NB. Check with authorities for current prices of above.
Getting above may take 3 weeks .
NB. Blood analysis and quarantine are compulsory so it is recommended that this should be done in Rsa whilst permits are being sort in Zim. These also takes almost a month.
The Zim buyer importer must also apply for a tax clearance from Zimra .
